PhD English Linguistics Program Educational Objectives
The PhD English Linguistics program aims to:
Pursue professional practices in English linguistics or advanced research based on the technical skills and knowledge in phonetics, syntax, semantics, sociolinguistics, and supported disciplines.
Encourage students to develop and use abstract models in addition to applying respective methodologies in practical and scholarly situations.
Provide practical skills to the students to initiate their career in academic institutions, research organizations, and various organizations related to English linguistics.
Prove mastery of the English linguistics knowledge and skills necessary to work as a professional linguist, by demonstrating an understanding of current linguistic models, analytical techniques, and scholarly practices.
Provide formal foundations for higher learning and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field of English linguistics.
