PhD Biochemistry Program Educational Objectives

The PhD Biochemistry program aims to:

  • Pursue professional practices in biochemistry or advanced research based on the technical skills and knowledge in molecular biology, enzymology, metabolism, and supported disciplines.

  • Encourage students to develop and use abstract models in addition to applying respective methodologies in practical and scholarly situations.

  • Provide practical skills to the students to initiate their career in academic institutions, research organizations, pharmaceutical companies, and various organizations related to biochemistry.

  • Prove mastery of the biochemistry knowledge and skills necessary to work as a professional biochemist, by demonstrating an understanding of current biochemical models, research techniques, and laboratory practices.

  • Provide formal foundations for higher learning and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field of biochemistry.

Eighteen years of education in the relevant field (MS/ MPhil/ FCPS or equivalent qualification as recognized by HEC) with a minimum academic score of CGPA 3.0 (out of 4.0 in semester system) or 1st
div in annual system.

Academic Qualification: 30%
Test/Interview: 70%
