PhD English Linguistics Program Educational Objectives

The PhD English Linguistics program aims to:

• Pursue professional practices in English linguistics or advanced research based on the technical skills and knowledge in phonetics, syntax, semantics, sociolinguistics, and supported disciplines.

• Encourage students to develop and use abstract models in addition to applying respective methodologies in practical and scholarly situations.

• Provide practical skills to the students to initiate their career in academic institutions, research organizations, and various organizations related to English linguistics.

• Prove mastery of the English linguistics knowledge and skills necessary to work as a professional linguist, by demonstrating an understanding of current linguistic models, analytical techniques, and scholarly practices.

• Provide formal foundations for higher learning and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field of English linguistics.
