PhD Sociology Program Educational Objectives

The PhD Sociology program aims to:

  • Pursue professional practices in sociology or advanced research based on the technical skills and knowledge in social theories, research methodologies, social institutions, and supported disciplines.

  • Encourage students to develop and use abstract models in addition to applying respective methodologies in practical and scholarly situations.

  • Provide practical skills to the students to initiate their career in academic institutions, research organizations, and various organizations related to sociology.

  • Prove mastery of the sociology knowledge and skills necessary to work as a professional sociologist, by demonstrating an understanding of current sociological models, analytical techniques, and scholarly practices.

  • Provide formal foundations for higher learning and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field of sociology.
